St. Joe's Bar

St. Joe’s is a neighborhood bar located in the Uptown area in New Orleans, LA. This bar’s rustic setting and their delicious signature cocktail - The Blueberry Mojito - beckon the weary traveler to sit awhile and enjoy the good vibe being sent throughout the place.

The Atmosphere

As you enter, you can't help but turn your eyes up to admire the religious ornaments and symbols that adorn the walls and the ceiling.  From eastern to western religious artifacts, the mood lends towards religious tolerance. 

When you move further down the corridor, you will find a pool table, but continue a little further and you will find yourself in a Zen garden patio.  The patio garden is a spacious area that also has an outside bar.  The atmosphere is cozy, rustic and serene.

In the words of Luis Bunel - a surrealist film director - 'The bar is an exercise in solitude. Above all else, it must be quiet, dark, very comfortable'.  In this aspect, Bunel would approve of St Joe’s.

Customer Service

Our bartender George was great.  He was personable and paid attention to his customers.  His demeanor harkens back to a time when the bartender knew how to set the vibe for the atmosphere, and in this case- it was a great one.

The Clientele

The patrons of St. Joe’s are people from the neighborhood, locals as well as French expats. St. Joe’s Bar is a neighborhood bar that has a quiet way about it.  People go to have an intimate drink with someone they have an ongoing relationship with or just reuniting, if only for a short while.
